  1. Wow, CONGRATS! I'm so happy for you. What finally did it, if you don't mind me asking?

  2. April,
Thanks!! And I hope you weren't too, too caught off guard... What did it was finding a great doctor. We were seeing a specialist at one hospital that we really felt was dicking us around (for lack of better wording). So we went for a second opinion. The new doctor was fantastic and made us feel like we were going to get pregnant from day one. In fact, I think he actually said "We will get you pregnant" at our first visit. His confidence made us confident. He put me on Gonal F, which I'm sure you've heard of. Its an injectable hormone, not pleasant, but not the worst. We did IUI the beginning of May, and this Dr office does 2 in a row, for better chances. And here we are. It wasn't cheap and it wasn't without tears for sure, but I'm 32 and I'm husband is 34 and we are going to have a baby in January. We were in disbelief until about a week ago when we started telling people. It is finally starting to feel real.
Have you found a doctor, April? Find a doctor. Find one who knows what they are talking about. At this point you don't want to waste your time with BS. We never thought it would happen for us. It will happen for you too.

  3. That's absolutely fabulous, Stacey, I'm so glad you found a great doctor! I remember from the sounds of your email your old doc seemed a little too laid back (I think ob's and general docs are just like that). I can't believe you managed to keep it a secret this long... :)

On our baby front, we actually are going in for our first IUI this weekend. I tried a few months of just clomid with an obstetrician, but really didn't want to waste the money trying IUI's with him. So instead last month we had an appt with a super awesome reproductive endocrinologist in our town, very well known for doing great work. Sooo, wish us luck! (We are just trying clomid/IUI the first cycle, then will go from there if needed).

Well congrats again, you deserve all the happiness, treasure it! :)
